The Clubfoot Research Foundation provides new Education, Continuous Analysis of Scientific Contributions and Supports new Research Initiatives Globally.
CRF Ongoing or Completed Projects Include:
1. A large multicenter study by Shriners Hospitals - Ages 4 Yr. Olds - Adult in 2022.
2. Educating Engineering students and other university teams designing new technologies for CTEV - For Example: Measurement technology or Orthotic Design 2013-2025 ongoing.
3. Sharing insights with other Non-Profit or Education Providers to improve their data collection and future research target identification - Ongoing
4. Assisting other Organizations such as a Para-Olympic Committee with insights regarding CTEV Athlete Participation in Sports - 2020
5. Submitted Conference Proposals and Educational Slideshows to Genomic Conferences and Physician Conferences since 2017.
6. The CRF started the first physician referral list featuring all therapy options, to assist patient families that face complex disease overlap, and to improve older children to adult access to less invasive methods (such as the Ponseti Method) to improve outcomes and patient quality of life.
7. We helped Orthotic Companies to get mass feedback to improve product offering and design for a complex and varied patient group. Product usage is extremely important over the lifetime of a patient. We evaluate the appropriateness of an application and make suggestions incorporating complex symptoms. We published the first online brace progression list for patients because of the data we gathered.
8. We constantly increase awareness and provide education on social media about all methos equally and advocate for the inclusion of hybrid methods where necessary. Kinesiotaping, Physical Therapy, The French Functional Method, Other Hybrid methods, and unique methods such as the Mili Method are some examples of methods that patient families can consider to learn more about. Providers globally helps us to provide accurate information to patient families and information.
9. The CRF created the first literature classification headings for CTEV scientific research education online since 2012. Studies were sorted and category names created based on the details found in the studies. Today the study headings are replicated by other CTEV non-profits - a compliment to the work and influence of the CRF and the motion it started in other non-profit organizations to improve the quality of education - we would however appreciate citation of the new data we add to the arena if you wish to improve your organizations education.
The CRF would like to thank the continued efforts of N. Bumbo, a Californian Pedorthist and CTEV Adult Patient that provided the first literature analysis and initial categorization since 1980!. We are merely continuing the efforts of the giants that went before us!
