Bracing for Clubfoot Adults

Adults with this condition, has had a hard time finding bracing devices to address the variety of foot pain needs in the past. Mostly an AFO brace called the Arizona Brace were used by patients in 2011.


Patient reports in adult groups confirm that some became amputees after just 1-3 childhood surgeries. This is very scary to parents who wants to know about the long-term options available. Education about the options are key to create hope for families facing moderate to severe CTEV. In this regard social media education is key for its reach and quick access it provides provided it is used responsibly.


In 2013, the Clubfoot Research Foundation discovered the Exosym product online and educated adult groups about it. They later added the Fabtech PDE AFO brace, the Phat brace, and the Momentum by Blatchford (UK) to their list of available adult products.

Adult patients require diverse solutions due to different outcomes and situations, as noted by the Clubfoot Research Foundation. They often need customized fits to accommodate varying functional stages.

great for the amputees but what about us adult women who haven't worn shorts or skirts and will be er wear heels because we think we look so deformed? Science hasn't managed to figure anything out for us?
